Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has asked the southern province of Ca Mau to raise its competitiveness, beef up its administrative reform, and create the most favourable conditions for businesses in a bid to make the locality more attractive for domestic and foreign investors. Addressing a working session with the provincial leaders on January 13, he reminded those present that Ca Mau was listed in a low group in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) ranking in 2016 as the province ranked 54 out of 63 cities and provinces nationwide; thus he called for more drastic measures and practical actions to improve the index. To continue the implementation of the cooperative agreement of the program “Strengthening the role of elected representatives in improving provincial business environment in the period 2016-2019”, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Training Center for Elected Representatives (TCERs) under the Committee of Deputies’ Affairs co-organized two (02) regional PCI training workshops for People’s Councils in Northern region at Son La (November 3, 2017) and in Southern region at Bac Lieu (November 16, 2017).
